That being said, there is nothing wrong with
critique, or religion...but you do have the right to decide for yourself. based on your own reasons.

And to further clarify, this is not a jab at religion, I grew up in a very religious home, and have seen both the good and the bad side of it, the over all point is that its all about Method not the Practice.

Let le' shit-storm being!

You people realize this was meant to be funny, right? That this was not a serious reflection on critiquing, right? That you are insulting a person who wanted to make joke? It's okay to not think it's funny, heck it's okay if you find it offensive, feel free to voice your opinions, just realize that it wasn't a deceleration of war on your personal belief system.

Man, by looking at the comments I'd say some people take art far too seriously .__.'
Even though this is an art site whose original intention was to give people the possibility to show their art and improve through critique it's not EVERYONE's intention! xD Because not everyone is a professional and some just draw for themselves... which is totally fine! ; )
Critique can be helpful though if you need it. As for me, I consider any critique when I see that it has some truth in it. But if I don't agree then I don't care and carry on.
So I'd say if you don't want to read critique at all then you should disable the comment function. If people want to give you critique... just let them. In the end it's YOUR decision if you take it or not.
As for me, I like critique at least a lot more than comments which are just like "Awwww it's so cute/nice/pretty/whatsoever!" because those people took a closer look at your art. So just take it as an honour. ;)

You're just trying to victimize yourself right now.

Well hey, guess what? Even harsh critique can be helpful. You just constantly refuse to take any kind of critique, be it polite or not.

You're on an art site; if you don't want people voice their opinion about your art, then kindly deactivate and leave us alone. There will always be people thinking that what you just drew is ugly, and it's completly normal, even when you think it's 100% perfect.

Also, if you didn't keep pulling the 'It's my style/cartoon/just for funz' card on everyone giving you a kind and polite critique, maybe then your would improve and not be seen as such a baby. It actually surprises me that you work for a printing company with such an attitude towards critique, which are even more important in a job where the client asks you to do something very specific such as a logo.

I think she means just on the internet and stuff. Actually being in a real business is another bucket of fish.

To me, there's no difference; some people actually check on the Internet to see how people truly react. This could fall down on her one day.

Also, there's no excuse to rage at someone for giving you a critique, whether it's on the Internet or not.

Basically, when she gets a critique, she tells people to calm down, that she doesn't give a damn about her art (bcuz itz 4 funz!!11) and that it's cartoon, therefore she doesn't need anatomy.

I suppose, but still, don't you think you're taking it a bit too seriously? What's it to you if you don't agree with the methods which a person you will never meet and has no influence over you goes about with their hobby? If people want critiques, they will make it clear.

Because that's not an attitude an artist should have. In fact, it's a pretty shitty attitude regardless of being an artist or not.
